Intern Perseverance and Success Scholarship

The Intern Perseverance and Success Scholarship is awarded to students in the final compulsory internship of eligible programs in education, health, and social services at the vocational, technical, or university level. The internship must be completed in Québec. Amounts range from $900 to $4,000 depending on the program. The scholarship is taxable.

The Intern Perseverance and Success Scholarship for Various Programs in Education, Health and Social Services is a provincial scholarship designed to encourage future graduates to persevere through and succeed in the demanding internship requirements at the end of their programs. It is awarded to students registered in and completing the final compulsory internship of eligible vocational, technical, or university programs.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be registered in the final compulsory internship of an eligible training program at a recognized Québec educational institution.
  • Complete the internship in Québec.
  • Be enrolled in one of the eligible programs listed below.

The scholarship amount is determined by the program, the importance of internships in the program, and the length of the final compulsory internship.

Important — Report to Aide financière aux études:

The Intern Perseverance and Success Scholarship is taxable income — you will receive a T4A tax slip. If you are also receiving assistance under the Loans and Bursaries Program, you must report the amount of your intern scholarship to Aide financière aux études. This is done through the income section of your Confirmation of Financial Resources form.

How to Apply

Apply through your Student Financial Assistance File at quebec.ca/student-financial-assistance. Submit your application when you are registered in your final compulsory internship. You will need your program information and internship details. Contact the financial assistance office at your educational institution if you need help confirming whether your program and internship qualify.

What Happens If You Repeat or Withdraw from an Internship?

If you repeat your internship, fail it, or withdraw, contact Aide financière aux études — specific rules apply regarding your eligibility for the scholarship in these circumstances.

Other Québec Financial Aid Options

The Intern Scholarship can be combined with regular Aide financière aux études support. You may also be eligible for the Loans and Bursaries Program for Full-Time Studies during your internship period. Education students who have not received the Intern Scholarship may also look into the Excellence Scholarships for Students in Education Programs ($7,500/year for exemplary teacher training students).
