The Addictions and Community Support Worker program provides students with the communication and technical skills needed to work in the community and assist those who suffer from personal, social and substance issues. Students will learn how to assess clients emotional and health related needs along with how to develop action plans to support those clients.
Addictions and Community Services Workers hold professional jobs in a wide range of settings such as child and family social service agencies. Addictions and Community Services Workers are also employed programs concerning specifically with alcoholism, drug abuse, and family violence.
A mandatory practicum placement occurs at the end of the program which allows students to apply their education and skills in a real-world setting.
Graduates of this program will be prepared to work in a range of social service settings in the province with their practicum experience giving them a smooth transition into the workplace.
