SECRETARIAL STUDIES – DEP 5857

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

As part of their daily tasks, secretaries independantly assume the administrative tasks necessary to support managers and professionals.

Secretarial tasks consist of:

  • Assure the quality of documents
  • Contribute to the office supplies
  • Correct texts, do layouts, collate and distribute documents.
  • Edit documents and designing presentations, spreadsheets, visual design of documents
  • Enter texts and data into a computer
  • Follow up on business correspondence
  • Keep agendas up to date
  • Organise meetings and events
  • Perform accounting tasks (bookkeeping, bank deposits, follow up on supplier and client accounts)
  • Perform document management
  • Provide customer service
  • Provide technical support on occasion for using equipment and integrating new employees
  • Translate texts
  • Update the information diffused on Internet sites and social media.
