The PSW Program is 700 hours in length, and consists of two important components: Theory and Practicum
Theory: Approximately 28 weeks, with 25 hours per week, delivered on a full-time basis, during the day or in the evenings.
Practicum: Students complete 310 hours of on-job training, in accordance with guidelines set by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities
The Practicum enables students to apply their skills and knowledge, acquired during in-class training, to the workplace as students-in-training.
Practicum placements take place in Community Settings and Long-Term Care Facilities
The required shifts may be scheduled according to student availability and program requirements
