Helping Canadians get back to work.

Early Childhood Education

Working with children is both challenging and fulfilling, and there is a constant demand for passionate, well-trained professionals in early childhood education. The Early Childhood Education certificate program at Vancouver Career College effectively combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills to equip you for a meaningful career in child care.

The program’s curriculum is comprehensive, covering essential topics such as child growth and development, guidance skills, relationship building, behavior management, and program planning. It also emphasizes creative approaches to learning, teaching you how to incorporate music, drama, art, and movement into educational activities.

After completing the required coursework, you have the opportunity to apply for an Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) certificate through the Early Childhood Education Registry. The program includes several observation modules, allowing you to gain practical experience by working alongside experienced educators and Vancouver Career College faculty.

Upon graduation, you will be well-prepared to pursue career opportunities in both non-profit and for-profit sectors. Positions for early childhood educators are available in various community settings, such as daycares, preschools, nursery schools, and family service centers, where you can make a significant impact on the development of young children.
