Important Update:

The Alberta Part-Time Grant is no longer available as of the 2025–2026 academic year. Alberta’s Government has discontinued this program. Part-time students may still be eligible for federal part-time grants and loans through Alberta Student Aid.

The Alberta Part-Time Grant was a provincial grant for part-time post-secondary students in Alberta, helping to cover costs such as tuition, books, and supplies. As of the 2025–2026 academic year, this program has been discontinued and is no longer accepting applications.

What Is Still Available for Part-Time Students?

Although the provincial part-time grant is no longer available, part-time students in Alberta may still qualify for a range of other funding options through Alberta Student Aid. When you apply through Alberta Student Aid, you are automatically assessed for all eligible federal grants and loans at the same time.

If you are studying part-time, it is still worth applying through Alberta Student Aid — you will be automatically considered for all federal grants and loans you may qualify for, even without the provincial part-time grant.

If you have the flexibility to study full-time, the Alberta Student Grant for Full-Time Students is still active, providing up to $425 per month (up to $5,100 per year) in non-repayable provincial funding for eligible students from low- and middle-income families.
