The Restorative Hygiene Program is a 21-week program that will prepare students to develop restorative and preventative skills. Students admitted to the program must be currently registered with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario.
During the program, students will learn to:
Conduct an initial dental assessment and consult with dentists and restorative dental hygienists on patient care
Instruct patients on oral hygiene procedures
Perform the following restorative procedures:
place and finish amalgam
perform composite and temporary restorations
take final impressions
cement provisional restorations
complete final cementation and bonding of indirect restorations
perform orthodontic procedures
Admission Requirements
Current registration with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario
Admissions interview
Once admitted, must submit:
Medical Certificate (must be free of communicable diseases; immunization report)
Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check (must be valid annually and be for individuals that are working or volunteering with vulnerable individuals)
Current CPR and First Aid (must be renewed on an annual basis)
