Prerequisites For Practical Nursing

MATHEMATICS FOR NURSING

Mathematics for Nursing will start on March 31, 2020 and will end on April 09, 2020. Canadian Health Care Academy is pleased to offer Mathematics for Nursing prerequisite course in its curriculum. The materials covered will assist students with basic math skills used throughout their clinical practice and more specifically Term 1 Pharmacology. Our mathematics course is timed in such a way as to have the students step directly into the Access or Generic Practical Nursing Programs following completion. This course is 2 weeks in length. The total fee of Math for Nursing is $225.

BIOLOGY FOR NURSING

Biology for Nursing will start on April 14, 2020 and will end on May 01, 2020. This course is designed to provide a basic biology introduction. Our Biology course is timed in such a way as to have the students step directly into the Access or Generic Practical Nursing Programs following completion. This course is 3 weeks in length. The total fee of Biology for Nursing is $450.

HUMAN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY FOR PRACTICAL NURSING

Human Anatomy  & Physiology for Practical Nursing will start on May 04, 2020 and will end on May 25, 2020. This course provides an overview of the organization, structure and function of the human body. Various health promotion strategies that promote the optimum functioning of body systems will be introduced. Throughout the course there will be a strong emphasis on vocabulary. The learner will have had the opportunity to understand: common health terminology related to describing body parts, position, and processes; the necessary elements for optimum functioning for each body system; the organization, structure, and function of various body systems. This course is 3 weeks in length, 5 days per week. The total fee of Human Anatomy & Physiology is $650.

ENGLISH 12 FOR PRACTICAL NURSING

English 12 for Practical Nursing will start on May 26, 2020 and will end on June 15, 2020. This course is designed for post-secondary studies at Canadian Health Care Academy. This course will develop the language competency fundamental to many opportunities in life, including continued learning, employment, and social interaction. The curriculum provides students with opportunities to study a broad range of informational and literary works and to practice using language in written, oral, and visual forms for a variety of functions. The curriculum places special emphasis on ensuring that students graduate with strong basic language skills. This course will cover comprehension and conversational English skills and their proper use in the nursing field. There will be emphasis on written and verbal comprehension, essay writing, and conversational English. This will help the student communicate better with patients, coworkers, and others. The total fee of Technical Communication for Practical Nursing is $350.
