Personal Support Worker

Program Description

This personal support worker training program is designed for participants interested in a career in the healthcare field in Toronto. Our students find that theory classes combined with the practical application of the programs help them to master the skills at a faster pace. Homecare Helper, Nursing Assistant, Healthcare Aid, and Home Support Helper At the end of the program, participants will have the skills and abilities to pursue entry-level positions in such areas as: Long term Care Facility, Extended Care Facilities, Retirement homes, Home Daycare, and Private Contracts.

Admission Requirements

Standard Admission

  • Students must meet ALL of the following criteria
    • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
    • Completed current immunization report (could take up to 6 months if not immunized within last 10 years)
    • Criminal Record Check (3 days – 4 weeks, approx cost $20 – $65)
    • Must pass Standard Entrance Examination.

Mature Admission

  • Students must meet ALL of the following criteria
    • Provide completed current immunization report
    • Criminal Record Check (3 days – 4 weeks, approx cost $20 – $65)
    • Be at least 18 years of age and pass a Superintendent approved qualifying test
    • Must pass Standard Entrance Examination.
