This program is for people who want to work in entry level positions in Trades. Some examples of jobs: baker’s helper, furnace cleaning helper, mechanic’s helper, plumber’s helper, salon helpers, painter assistant, electrician helper and welder’s helper.Entry Requirements
CLB 4-6 (CLB levels and Mathematical requirements depend on career of interest). This is an excellent program for those who have completed ESL and/or have reached satisfactory levels of LINC study.Program Description
- 16 or 32 weeks
- Get Academic Upgrading in Essential Skills English, Math, and Computers.
- Study occupation specific modules to prepare for work experience
- Get training in:
- Occupation Specific Vocabulary
- Workplace language, Culture and Communications
- Customer Service
- Work Strategies
- Work experience placement – up to 6 weeks
- Job placement support from an Employment Specialist/Job Coach.
- Certificates in:
- Standard First Aid
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
