The Early Childhood Education Post Basic program at Vancouver Career College offers a tailored opportunity for those looking to advance their careers in Early Childhood Education (ECE). With three distinct streams available, students can specialize in Infant Toddler, Special Needs, or opt to pursue both specializations.
Program Structure: This part-time program deepens students’ expertise in specific areas of ECE, focusing on either infant/toddler care or special needs education. The curriculum is designed to enhance understanding of key concepts such as child development, family and community engagement, and management responsibilities within childcare settings.
Specializations:
Graduate Outcomes: Upon completion of the required courses and practicum placements, graduates are eligible to apply for licensure as a Special Needs Educator and/or an Infant/Toddler Educator. Each specialization consists of seven courses and one practicum placement. Those wishing to qualify for both licenses must complete a total of nine courses and two practicum placements, all of which must be undertaken in British Columbia.
