About the Program

If working with young children is your calling, CDI College's Early Childhood Education certificate is a strong place to start. Over 44 weeks you'll build the theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills real daycares and preschools look for, backed by practicum placements in licensed childcare settings.

What You'll Learn

Child growth and development, guidance strategies, and behaviour management
Program planning, activity design, and learning through play
Health, safety, and nutrition, including Emergency Child Care First Aid, CPR/AED Level B, and FoodSafe Level I certification
Real-world experience through multiple observation and summative practicum placements

Career Opportunities

Roles: You'll graduate ready for roles as an early childhood educator, daycare worker, preschool helper, or daycare supervisor.

Why it matters: Licensed childcare centres across BC are consistently looking for qualified educators, and this certificate meets the academic requirements to apply for provincial ECE certification.

The program is approved by the Registrar of the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) of British Columbia.
