About the Program

CDI College's Addictions Recovery Support for Youth and Families diploma prepares you to help families heal from alcohol and substance use issues. Over 70 weeks, you'll build a four-part comprehensive curriculum and cap it off with a 300-hour practicum working directly with clients in the community.

Psychology, ethics, and treatment planning for addictions work
Relapse prevention strategies and working with high-risk populations
Advocacy and empowerment of youth, plus youth justice issues
Group facilitation, case file management, and community resource networking

Career Opportunities

Roles: You'll graduate ready for roles at alcohol and drug treatment facilities, Aboriginal agencies, community mental health facilities, correctional facilities, and school programs.

Why it matters: Ontario's demand for addictions and recovery support workers keeps growing, and this program builds you toward Associate Addiction Counsellor status while you're still studying.

This program is registered under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
