  • About The Program

    The Accounting and Payroll Administrator diploma program offers a 10-week field placement to gain hands-on experience in the field. Graduates will also be eligible for the Payroll Certified Practitioner designation.

    Program Details

    Are you interested in learning the core principles of accounting and becoming an administrator in the field? If so, the Accounting and Payroll Administrator diploma program is just what you need to kick start your new career. In this 60-week program, you will learn everything from accounts payable and accounts receivable to cash flows and balance sheets. You will take courses in finance, business, and bookkeeping to help set you up for a successful career in this industry. These skills are vital to fulfill the need of hundreds of organizations around the globe and a diploma in the right course will help you fill that demand. Successful graduates of this program who earn the appropriate passing grades for the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) courses, namely Payroll Compliance Legislation, Payroll Fundamentals I and Payroll Fundamentals II (a minimum of 65% overall in each course, and earn at least 65% on each of the final exams), will be eligible to pursue CPA’s Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification. The PCP designation is nationally recognized as the standard of excellence for payroll training. To be fully certified, PCP candidates must satisfy the following criteria:
    • Obtain the Introduction to Accounting transfer of credit;
    • Maintain CPA membership either through an individual membership (a 1-year individual Associate Membership is included in this Eastern program), or through a company that has a Business membership;
    • Complete the CPA’s Work Experience Requirement Application (WERA) process, to demonstrate 1 year of experience (within 5 years after the start of the Payroll Compliance Legislation course) in which your job role involves paying employees accurately and on time, in compliance with legislative requirements, contributing to the full annual payroll cycle.
    • Complete the online Certification Declaration.

  • About The Program

    The Accounting Technician program allows students to learn intermediate and management accounting, and how to use computerized accounting programs with Sage 50 & 300.

    Successful graduates of the program who meet the requirements outlined by the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA) will achieve a Certificate in International Freight Forwarding. The certificate is nationally recognized within the international transportation and international trade logistics industries. New Brunswick graduates of the Supply Chain & Logistics Diploma Program receive advanced standing towards the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation. The SCMP designation is an internationally-accredited certification of strategic supply chain leadership, and is Canada’s most widely-held designation in supply chain management.

    *Graduates who meet the requirements outlined by the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA) will achieve a certificate in International Freight Forwarding. This certificate is globally recognized within the international transportation and international trade logistics industries. Full time Schedule: You also have the option to take the Supply Chain program full-time. In just 32 weeks, you can obtain four certifications: – Business & Supply Chain Fundamentals Certificate – Supply Chain Customer Service Certificate – Supply Chain Purchasing & Inventory Management Certificate – Supply Chain Transportation Certificate Part time Schedule: You can take the Supply Chain program part-time, committing up to ten hours a week to complete the requirements.     Program Details

    The purpose of the program is to prepare students with the necessary skills and academic knowledge for entry-level positions in retail pharmacies, as well as pharmaceutical companies. This program provides an overview of the theory, principles and practices of the Pharmacy Assistant. Areas of study include prescription intake, pharmacy software practice, proper extemporaneous compounding techniques, controlling inventory, keeping accurate and confidential records, third party billing, acting within relevant legislation, and effectively communicating verbally and in writing. Eastern College’s Saint John campus is located at 212 McAllister Drive, near the intersection of Rothesay Avenue and McAllister Drive. The Saint John campus has a fully functional barbershop and massage therapy clinic, offering services to the public at various times throughout the week.

Located within the McAllister Place Mall and near to Uptown Saint John, the campus is minutes away from several eateries and shopping centers. Close to the Saint John Throughway, the campus is easily accessible via public transit.
