Business, Accounting, Marketing Programs

  • Program Description

    The Computerized Accounting diploma program provides you with the knowledge and skills required for accounting and office administration related careers. The Computerized Accounting program is an intensive 34-week program that prepares you with the skills to effectively work with various accounting and computer software programs that play an important role in the functioning of today’s accounting departments in order to provide effective accounting and bookkeeping services.

  • Personal Support Worker

    Program Overview

    This program is designed as a single training program that replaces and consolidates HealthCare Aide and Home Support worker training. This program delivers a solid educational base to workers who provide long-term care and support service in both institution and community settings. Personal Support Workers are an important part of the health care team. The Personal Support Worker Program enables you to develop skills required to provide personal support services to clients and their families, clients and residents in the community, at home, in hospitals and in long-term care facilities. Services provided by the PSW include: - assistance in routine daily living activities - mobility - personal care and hygiene - ongoing medical conditions and medications - management of household activities
    The Personal Support Worker Diploma Program is an intensive 35 week program approved as a vocational program under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005, and meets all operational standards of the National Association of Career Colleges, (NACC). This program combines instructor led training with a clinical work placement designed to prepare students for a career in health care.

Human & Social Services, CSW Programs

  • The City College Developmental Services Worker diploma program teaches students skills to effectively promote the physical, mental and emotional health of individuals with disabilities, to help them to function better in the classroom, at work and in their day to day lives.

    The program starts with learning on the stages of human development, the types of developmental disabilities and the range of available community support services for this population.

    Learning continues with intervention techniques, person-centered planning, abnormal psychology/dual diagnosis, basic pharmacology, supporting people with autism, augmentative forms of communication, and effective responses to people who have been abused.

    In a nutshell, the program develops one’s skills in building interpersonal relationships and counselling.

    The Developmental Services Worker Diploma Program is delivered in small classes by Developmental Services Experts who are active in the field. The program combines instructor-led training with three field placement components. In just 44 weeks students can start a satisfying and enriching career in this field
