Healthcare, Wellness, Pharma Programs

  • Course Description: The Spa Massage Practitioner program is a prerequisite for entry to the second year Massage Therapy program. The program provides students with the knowledge to provide a safe and ethical one-hour relaxation massage using a variety of Swedish Massage techniques. Students will also be introduced to Case History, Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Terminology and Hydrotherapy. Graduates of the SMP program have the ability to work independently or as an employee at spas, resorts or cruise ships. Upon completion of this program, graduates may obtain associate or student memberships with the associations listed below.

  • Admission Requirements: Spa Massage Practitioner Certificate or Direct Entry – Students who already have training from another institution may be eligible for direct entry into the second year program. Contact us to learn more.

    Course Description: Students learn deep tissue massage, fascia release, facilitated exercises, history taking, orthopaedic assessments and treatment of pathologies of the entire muscular-skeletal system. Students practice in ACMT’s Student Clinic throughout the program. Graduates become Registered Massage Therapists upon joining an association.

Alberta College of Massage Therapy

Alberta College of Massage Therapy (ACMT) was founded in 2001. ACMT is a Private Career College licensed through the Province of Alberta’s Innovation and Advanced Education Program. ACMT offers an inspired, flexible learning approach. Upon completion, graduates can practice as Registered Massage Therapists.

*All student funding, whether made available privately or through various government branches, is only approved to those who qualify, by the original source of funding. There are many criteria that each candidate must meet to be approved. Schools can only inform you of what may be available.
