  • About the Program

    The Foundations Program is Alberta Barber Academy's accredited Level 2 Certificate training, approved by Alberta Industry and Training. This program transforms aspiring barbers into confident professionals through structured theory, supervised practice on real clients, and comprehensive skill development in a professional barbershop environment.

    Over 525 hours of training, you'll master fundamental barbering techniques including classic cuts, fades, beard grooming, and client consultation. Work directly with paying customers under expert supervision, building the speed, precision, and professionalism that employers demand.

    Choose the schedule that fits your life with three flexible delivery options ranging from 14 to 28 weeks. All formats include the same comprehensive curriculum and hands-on client experience—just pick the pace that works for you.

    Industry-Recognized Certification

    Graduate with a fully accredited certificate from Alberta Industry and Training Board—the credential you need to advance in Alberta's barbering industry and qualify for apprenticeship programs.

    Career Opportunities

    Upon completion of this Level 2 Certificate program, you'll be ready to begin your career as a professional barber with the technical skills, confidence, and precision needed to succeed. The program prepares you for apprenticeship placement and professional barbering roles.

    Career paths include:

    • Apprentice Barber continuing training in a professional barbershop
    • Licensed Barber upon completion of full apprenticeship requirements
    • Barbershop Professional working in established salons and barbershops
    • Self-Employed Barber building your own client base

    Program Investment: $8,195 total (includes $200 enrollment fee, $1,500 barber tools and supplies, $6,500 tuition)

    Schedule Options:

    • Day Classes: 14 weeks, Monday-Friday 9:30am-4:30pm
    • Evening Classes: 24 weeks, Monday-Thursday 4:30pm-8:30pm (popular option)
    • Weekend Classes: 28 weeks, Saturday-Sunday 9:30am-4:30pm
