Education, Teaching Programs
- The Ged Preparation Program
The GED (General High School Equivalency Diploma) Preparation Program provides the skills to challenge the GED Exam. Instruction is given in basic math, reading skills, and writing skills. Students receive a High School Equivalency Diploma from Alberta Education upon passing the GED Exam. The GED is recognized by employers and can serve as a prerequisite to further training.
All GED Preparation classes are teacher instructed and are offered on a part-time basis.
Government funding, which covers tuition, books, calculator, exam fee, may be available. (Funding may cover transportation and childcare expenses while in training.)
- The Women In The Trades Diploma
The Women in the Pre-Trades Program is a six-month full-time program, which provides the necessary math, science, and reading skills to pass the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Trades Entrance Exam. Included in the Women in the Trades program is a two-month work experience component, which provides on-the-job training in the trades.
- Math & Science For The Trades Diploma
The Math and Science for the Trades program is a four-month full-time program which provides the necessary math, science, and reading skills to pass the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Trades Entrance Exam.

Academic Express Adult Education & Training
Academic Express Adult Education and Training has been delivering career development training and adult upgrading, in Red Deer and throughout the Province of Alberta via distance-delivery, since 1998. Academic Express is a member of the Alberta Association of Career Colleges. Academic Express’ instructors are experienced, knowledgeable, and highly skilled in adult education and in their areas of expertise.
