Pharmacy Assistant

Bay River College’s one-year Pharmacy Assistant diploma program covers the diverse topics required to successfully work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, including basic pharmacology, drug and medical terminology and pharmaceutical best practices. Students in this program also learn fundamental concepts in medical ethics and personal safety. The Pharmacy Assistant diploma program prepares students for a challenging and rewarding career assisting licensed pharmacists in the day-to-day operations of a pharmacy. Students acquire the necessary skills to fill orders, manage client information, prepare and process paperwork, and breakdown prescriptions. In addition, students receive hands-on training with leading pharmaceutical management software. Students will also learn how to effectively manage inventory and handle a variety of crucial administrative tasks.
