About the Program

The Foundations Program is Alberta Barber Academy's accredited Level 2 Certificate training, approved by Alberta Industry and Training. This program transforms aspiring barbers into confident professionals through structured theory, supervised practice on real clients, and comprehensive skill development in a professional barbershop environment.

Over 525 hours of training, you'll master fundamental barbering techniques including classic cuts, fades, beard grooming, and client consultation. Work directly with paying customers under expert supervision, building the speed, precision, and professionalism that employers demand.

Upon completion of this Level 2 Certificate program, you'll be ready to begin your career as a professional barber with the technical skills, confidence, and precision needed to succeed. The program prepares you for apprenticeship placement and professional barbering roles.

Schedule Options:

  • Day Classes: 14 weeks, Monday-Friday 9:30am-4:30pm
  • Evening Classes: 24 weeks, Monday-Thursday 4:30pm-8:30pm (popular option)
  • Weekend Classes: 28 weeks, Saturday-Sunday 9:30am-4:30pm
