Helping Canadians get back to work.

Mobile Web Developer using AI

About the Program

The Mobile Web Developer Using AI diploma at Eastern College is an 81-week program—including a 12-week internship—that specializes in mobile application development while covering the full web stack. Through live, instructor-led online classes and a real-world, hands-on curriculum, you'll build the industry-grade logic and problem-solving skills needed to master software development using modern tooling, processes, and frameworks.

The program spans front-end design and coding, server-side development with PHP and MySQL, JavaScript frameworks like Angular and React, and native mobile development for iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin)—with AI-supported tools like GitHub Copilot woven throughout. Both a mobile capstone and a web capstone let you build real, showcasable apps before you graduate, giving you a genuine head start on your professional portfolio.

Classes are held at scheduled times through the Microsoft Teams platform, so you can ask questions, join discussions, and get instructor support in real time—without commuting to campus. Financial assistance may be available for those who qualify, monthly payment plans are offered, and Eastern's dedicated Financial Aid Officers will help you explore your funding options.

Two Capstones, One Portfolio

You'll complete both a custom mobile app (Android or iOS) and a database-driven web app, with instructor mentoring and code reviews—two working products to show potential employers.

What You'll Learn

  • Native mobile development—iOS with Swift, SwiftUI, and Xcode; Android with Kotlin and the Android SDK
  • Full-stack web development with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL, Angular, and React, plus Linux hosting and WordPress
  • Graphical and UI/UX design with Adobe tools, plus agile workflows using Git, GitHub, and GitHub Copilot AI
  • Career readiness through resume and interview preparation, half-day classes, and a 240-hour internship with job placement assistance

Career Opportunities

Developers who can ship for web, iOS, and Android are among the most versatile hires in software—able to take a product from browser to app store. Your two capstone projects and internship experience add up to a working portfolio—exactly what hiring managers ask junior developers to show.

Career paths include:

  • Mobile Programmer/Developer – build native apps for iOS and Android platforms
  • Software Programmer/Developer – develop applications across web and mobile
  • Web Programmer/Developer – create responsive, data-driven web applications
  • Application Programmer/Developer – maintain and extend business software
