About the Program

Vancouver Career College's Paralegal Diploma prepares you to support lawyers and legal teams with research, documentation, and file management across major areas of law. The 67-week program is delivered online and ends with a four-week practicum in a law office or legal department, so you graduate with both legal knowledge and real-world experience. Studying online lets you train from anywhere in BC without relocating.

What You'll Learn

  • Learn BC litigation procedures, family law, real estate conveyancing, corporate and commercial law, criminal law, and wills and estates.
  • Draft legal documents, conduct legal research, write research memoranda, and cite case law and statutes correctly.
  • Build office skills in Microsoft Office and Outlook, effective business writing, legal office procedures, and keyboarding at 50 wpm.
  • Gain hands-on experience during your practicum, with career and employment support for up to six months after graduation.

Career Opportunities

Roles: Paralegal, Legal Assistant, and Conveyancing Assistant in law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies, and financial institutions earning $50,000–$80,000

Why it matters: Firms increasingly delegate research and document preparation to trained paralegals, and the BC median wage for the role sits around $40 per hour (Job Bank, 2026).
