Dementia Workshop
Course Description:
Improve your insight and awareness of dementia, empowering you to give quality care to people with dementia.
You will learn and effectively utilize the U-First!™ approach to deal with the individual living with dementia and their behavior while engaging in meaningful dialogue with the care team to ensure individualized support. You will likewise learn and practice individual-focused care, as well as powerful communication strategies to improve the quality of life for individuals with dementia.
At the end of the course, the students will be able to:- Discuss changes that occur with aging.
- Discuss the types and different causes of dementia, delirium, disorientation and depression.
- Distinguish the clinical signs and symptoms of dementia, delirium, disorientation and depression.
- Formulate nursing interventions for clients exhibiting signs and symptoms of dementia in various stages.
- Apply various communication skills in caring for clients exhibiting various behavioral symptoms of dementia.
